Gates and Metalwork for Monmouthshire
Abergavenny sits about 20 miles north of our Ponthir workshop, a straightforward run up the A465. We cover the market town and out across Monmouthshire to Usk, Raglan, Monmouth and the surrounding valleys, an area that is far more rural than our city work and asks for different metalwork as a result.
Out here a lot of what we make is for farms, smallholdings and country properties: field and agricultural gates, estate entrance gates, and railings for older stone houses. Exposed upland sites take a battering from the weather, so hot-dip galvanising is not optional on this kind of work. It is the difference between a gate that lasts decades and one that rusts in a few winters.
Rural and Estate Work
Alongside our standard range, Monmouthshire customers often come to us for wider agricultural and estate gates, tall driveway gates for country entrances, railings and handrails for stone steps and terraces, and repairs to older ironwork that is worth saving rather than replacing. We visit on site to measure and to see the access, which matters a great deal on farm tracks and rural lanes, before quoting a fixed price.
