Terms & Conditions
The terms on which we provide quotations, carry out fabrication and installation work, and supply goods. Last updated: July 2026.
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of goods and services by Lloyds Fabrications Ltd ("we", "us", "our") to you, the customer. They apply to all quotations, orders, and contracts for fabrication, supply, and installation work unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Our registered address is Unit 2, Star Trading Estate, Ponthir, Newport NP18 1PQ. By accepting a quotation from us, you agree to these terms.
2. Quotations
All quotations are free and provided following a site visit or assessment of your requirements. A quotation is valid for 30 days from its date unless stated otherwise, after which prices may be subject to review.
Quotations are based on the information and measurements available at the time. If the work required changes, or if site conditions differ from those assessed (for example, ground conditions, access, or existing structures), we reserve the right to revise the price. Any change will be discussed and agreed with you before additional work is carried out.
Unless expressly stated, a quotation may not include scaffold, specialist access equipment, groundworks, electrical supply for automation, or delivery to difficult-access sites.
3. Orders and Contract
A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation and we confirm acceptance. For bespoke work, acceptance may be confirmed by your payment of a deposit.
Because much of our work is bespoke and made to your specification, please check all dimensions, designs, colours, and finishes carefully before confirming your order. Once fabrication has begun, changes may not be possible or may incur additional cost.
4. Deposits and Payment
For bespoke and larger orders, we typically require a deposit before fabrication begins, with the balance due on completion of installation. The exact deposit amount and payment schedule will be set out in your quotation or invoice.
Payment is due within the period stated on the invoice. We accept payment by bank transfer and other methods as agreed. Title to any goods supplied remains with us until payment has been received in full.
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.
5. Lead Times and Installation
We will give you an estimated lead time for fabrication and installation. While we make every effort to meet agreed dates, timescales are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including material supply, weather, or site readiness.
You are responsible for ensuring the installation site is ready and accessible on the agreed date. Where a wasted visit occurs because the site is not ready or accessible, we may charge for the additional visit.
6. Materials and Finishes
All external steelwork is hot-dip galvanised as standard before painting or powder coating, unless otherwise agreed. Galvanising and powder-coating finishes are durable but, like all coatings, require reasonable care and are subject to normal weathering over time.
Natural variations in materials, hand-finishing, and galvanising texture are characteristic of bespoke metalwork and are not considered defects. Colours shown on our website or samples are indicative and may vary slightly from the finished product.
7. Gate Automation and Electrical Work
Where we supply and install automated gate systems, safety is our priority and installations are carried out with appropriate force-limitation and safety devices in line with current guidance. You are responsible for ensuring any required mains electrical supply is available at the gate location, installed by a qualified electrician, unless we have agreed to arrange this.
Automated systems require periodic maintenance to remain safe and reliable. We can advise on or provide a maintenance schedule on request.
8. Warranties
We warrant that our fabrication and installation work will be carried out with reasonable skill and care and will be free from defects in workmanship for a period agreed at the time of order. Any specific product warranties, for example on aluminium products, powder-coated finishes, or automation components, will be confirmed in writing and may be provided by the relevant manufacturer.
Our warranty does not cover: fair wear and tear; damage caused by misuse, accident, or failure to maintain; alterations or repairs carried out by others; corrosion resulting from damage to protective coatings; or issues arising from site conditions outside our control.
This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer, which are not affected by these terms.
9. Cancellation
If you are a consumer and the contract was concluded away from our premises, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However, this right does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised, once work has begun.
Because our work is predominantly bespoke, if you cancel after fabrication has started you may be liable for the cost of materials and work carried out up to the point of cancellation. We will always discuss this fairly with you.
10. Liability
We maintain appropriate insurance for our work. Our total liability arising under or in connection with a contract shall not exceed the total price paid for the goods and services supplied.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
