Not everything fits into a neat category. Sometimes you just need something made in steel — a beam, a frame, a bracket, a one-off component. That's what we do. Have done for over a century.
Most of what we do falls into recognisable categories — gates, railings, staircases. But a good chunk of our work doesn't. It's the structural beams going into a house extension, the custom brackets for a signage installation, the replacement component for a machine that hasn't been manufactured for thirty years.
General steel fabrication is at the core of what Lloyds Fabrications has always done. Our Newport workshop has the cutting, drilling, bending, and welding capability to produce most steel components to a customer's drawing or specification — or to work with you to develop one if you're starting from a rough idea.
We work with builders, architects, engineers, farmers, and private clients. The brief changes every time. The quality doesn't.
Beam, channel, angle, RHS, SHS, CHS — we cut to length, to angle, and to profile using bandsaw and disc cutting equipment.
Structural and precision welding to a high standard. Our welders have the experience to work across a range of section sizes and join configurations.
Steel plate cutting, drilling and shaping for base plates, flanges, gussets and flat-bar components. Guillotine and drill press available for flat work.
For curved components and scrollwork, we bend steel hot — giving clean, consistent curves without the stress fractures that cold bending can introduce in thicker sections.
We don't just produce individual components — we assemble multi-part steel structures in the workshop before delivery, so site installation is straightforward.
All external work is hot-dip galvanised as standard. Painting and powder coating arranged to your specification. We don't treat finishing as an afterthought.
Structural beams, lintels, column base plates, stair stringers and balcony supports for house builders and contractors. We work from drawings or can liaise directly with structural engineers to get the specification right.
Farm gates, yard barriers, feed barriers, cattle handling equipment and bespoke agricultural metalwork. Practical, tough, and priced to suit farming budgets. We understand what farm equipment goes through.
Mezzanine frames, machine guards, racking supports, plant access platforms and bespoke industrial components. We can work to tight tolerances where required and handle larger structural fabrications from our workshop.
Bespoke architectural metalwork, feature staircases, decorative structural elements and custom components for commercial and residential schemes. We're used to working from architectural drawings and to tight site programmes.
Our Newport workshop has been operating continuously since the business was founded. Here's what that means in practice.
Unit 2, Star Trading Estate, Ponthir — easy access for drop-offs, collections and site deliveries across South Wales and Bristol.
Everything is made by our own team. We don't subcontract fabrication — which means consistent quality and direct accountability.
Send us a DXF, PDF, or a dimensional sketch. We'll price from it and flag anything that needs to be resolved before fabrication starts.
We can deliver to site across South Wales and the West of England, or items can be collected from our workshop by arrangement.
